SOREL-TRACY, QUEBEC (Feb. 21, 11:30 a.m. ET) -- Corium Urethane Technology Inc. says it is the first Canadian company to opt for polyurethane composite spray molding in the manufacture of high-quality end products for the automotive, outdoor and maritime industries.
The company aims to double its output and add further production capacities, which it says indicates the success of its PU-based product range.
"It was immediately clear to us that this technology would solve all sorts of problems in many areas – both for the producers as well as for the users. We don’t mean only regarding look and feel but [also] the functional optimization,” said George Magirescu, Corium president, in a news release.
He noted that in boat building, for example, certain needs clash, such as water-, UV- and mould-resistance as well as long-term extreme durability. Magirescu said PU composite spray molding, using equipment from the Hennecke group, enables the company to manufacture a suitable product.
Corium’s product range offers water-resistant seating and other flexible foam components as well as complex parts for car interiors and durable decorative elements.
